Feast of the Baptism of the Lord

The Bishop of Oxford will be the preacher at the first High Mass of Hilary Term, on Sunday 13 January 2008, at 11 a.m.

Christmas Vacation

All public services will cease after mass at 12 noon on Friday 14 December, until Monday 7 January when the regular daily schedule will resume with Morning Prayer at 7:40, Mass at 8:00, and Evening Prayer at 5:00 p.m.

New Appointment

The Reverend John William Hunwicke has been appointed Honorary Senior Research Fellow of Pusey House with immediate effect.

Father Hunwicke is to be licensed as Priest in Charge of St Thomas the Martyr, Oxford, on Tuesday 6 November at 7:30 p.m. in St Thomas's Church. He will preach at Pusey House on the vigil of the Immaculate Conception on Friday 7 December 2007 at 6 p.m.

Pusey House Supper Club

After a very successful evening last week, the Supper Club meets again on Wednesday, 24th October, at 7.30pm in the Frederic Hood Room, Pusey House.

The price is £2 - please notify Alexandra Vinall if you would like to be present. Dinner will be followed by Compline and Benediction.

Visit of HRH The Princess Royal

HRH The Princess Royal visited Pusey House today on the occasion of the annual festival of the St Helena Diocesan Association of which she is patron.

Her Royal Highness was greeted by the Principal and Chapter, and met members of the Association and the choir and servers over luncheon. The sermon at High Mass was preached by the Bishop of St Helena, the Rt Revd John Salt OGS.

Confirmation

The Bishop of Chichester, the Rt Rev'd John Hind, administered the Sacrament of Confirmation and preached during the High Mass on Sunday, April 29th.

Ordinations

Charles Miller will be made Deacon at Petertide.

Matthew Bemand will be ordained Priest by the Bishop of Richborough at St Thomas' Church, Brentwood on Sunday, June 24th, at 5.00pm. Father Matthew will offer the Holy Sacrifice for the first time at St Thomas? on Monday, June 24th, at 8.00pm.

Daniel Smith will be ordained Priest by the Bishop of Lewes at St Peter's Church, Bexhill at 9.45am on July 1st. He will sing his first Mass at St Peter's on the same day at 6.00pm.

Rodney Hunter RIP

A Solemn Requiem for Canon Rodney Hunter, former Priest Librarian, was sung in Chapel at 12 noon on Saturday, April 28th. The preacher was the Rt Rev'd Keith Newton, Bishop of Richborough. Father Hunter was a Priest Librarian of the House in the 1960s before joining the University Mission to Central Africa.
