Biography
Antiquum Documentum is an Oxford-based vocal consort that performs Early music—especially sacred polyphony—in a historically-informed style. This style involves incorporating authentic ornaments, historical pronunciation, using the correct, low pitches at which these works were originally sung, as well researching and reconstructing the original performances contexts. On the 1st of February, the ensemble is presenting our largest liturgical reconstruction yet, a High Mass for Candlemas according for to Sarum Use at Great St Bartholomew, Smithfield.
Programme
A short programme of chant from the Use of Salisbury and polyphony from the Old Hall Manuscript.
