For nearly 1500 years, the Rule of St. Benedict has had a profound influence on Western Monasticism and Western Christianity at large. Its influence has also profoundly shaped Anglican spirituality and practice in unique ways, perhaps more than any other Western Christian tradition. The Benedictine tradition has left a lasting effect on leadership, worship, pastoral care, and modes of evangelization within the Church. Through presentations and discussion groups, we will consider not only how the Rule of St. Benedict has shaped our tradition but also its potential to guide and strengthen the Church’s mission and ministry today.
