First Principles
The Twentieth-Century Principals of Pusey House and the Life of the Church
Saturday 11th October 2025, 10.00am–4.00pm
To conclude the celebrations of Pusey House's 140th Anniversary Year, the House will host this one-day event to remember some of the late Principals of Pusey House, and to evaluate and honour their contributions to the life of the wider Church in the twentieth century.
Speakers will include:

David Gunn-Johnson on Vincent Stratton Stuckey Coles,
Thomas Plant on Darwell Stone,
Fergus Butler-Gallie on Francis Hugh Maycock,
Andrew Louth and Roger Jupp on Cheslyn Jones.
John Bauerschmidt, sometime Priest-Librarian of Pusey House and current Bishop of Tennessee will conclude the day by considering Pusey House and the Life of the Church in the 20th and 21st Centuries.
